This extraordinarily refined wooden paddle was created in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, in the remote Austral Islands. It exhibits meticulous carving, its all surface covered with precise geometrical patterns, while small characters or tikis with big round eyes encircle its pommel. This tiki figures are found in large areas of Polynesia and take us directly back to the heart of the deepest beliefs and artistic performances of Oceania.
