This sign was located on the facade of a family house or a House of Men in the region of the valley of Elip at the Telefomin. The rounded opening in the lower part constituting the front door. The facade of the Men’s house was decorated with several carved and painted panels which had a protective function for the relics kept inside. On the central motif of this door is represented a flying fox surrounded by snakes. The double spiral at the top of the door evokes both traces left by the wood larva and the tail feathers of a bird of paradise. The triangles on the sides represent the jawbone of a crocodile.
