Aviwe Plaatjie is born in 1988. He lives and works in Cape Town, South Africa. ​Aviwe Plaatjie is a painter and a printmaker. He describes himself as a simple observer of his community capturing his family, friends and neighbors in their daily environment. He paints those intimate moments of a conversation between two friends, a furtive pause in a staircase, the pleasure of flipping through a magazine or a solitary daydream with his eyes fixed on the window.
