Within a reduced corpus of about fifteen pots with summit figures, the lid of the Vérité collection stands out as the masterpiece of the style. Because of its unusual dimensions and the exceptional quality of its sculpture, it was probably intended for a noble family (horon). An ode to the feminine power celebrated by the initiatory society of the Jo, is testament to the major place of women in Bamana culture.
